#RAA All About Staying Healthy w/ Dr. Seuss!

Join millions across the country to celebrate the sixteenth annual National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America Day on Monday, March 2, 2016. NEA's Read Across America Day celebrates the birthday of the popular children's author Dr. Seuss, as well as the joys of reading. NEA expects more than 45 million readers, both young and old, to pick up a book and read to honor the good doctor and celebrate the fun and value of reading. Join many of America's leading literacy, youth and civic groups in bringing a nation of readers together under one hat-the red and white stovepipe made famous by the Cat in the Hat-for a flurry (or furry) of reading excitement!

Oh the Things You Can Do That Are Good for You is a new 16 bonus pages expanded version that has kid-friendly recipes and fun ways to get moving and is all about staying healthy. This edition was created by Random House Children's Books with Dr. Seuss and Partnership For A Healthier America.

I will be reading to a total of 7 classes of Mississippi Headstart youth and giving out bookmarks, stickers, and pencils. The book retails for $9.99 and can even be used  as a reference to a fun cooking class for youth with cool recipes such as THE CAT IN THE HAT'S BOW-TIE MAC AND CHEESE, EGG IN A BEEZER BALL BASKET, OR MRS. BUGGLES'S TOOTY-FRUITY ROLL-UPS.

Stay tuned for a fun giveaway! Until then what is your favorite Dr. Seuss book? Are they from the The Cat In the Hat's Learning Library?

The National Education Association is the nation's largest professional employee organization, representing 3.2 million elementary and secondary teachers, college faculty, school administrators, education support professionals, retired educators and students preparing to become teachers.
